No. Lingua uses an online translation service, so you need an internet connection to translate.
Translations are automatic and may not always be perfect, especially for slang, names or complex sentences. Try rephrasing, or check important translations with someone who speaks the language.
The microphone is used only while you record speech for voice translation, and the camera only while you point it at text for camera translate. Nothing is recorded in the background — you can revoke these in Settings → Apps → Lingua → Permissions.
The text, speech or image you translate is sent to our translation service to produce the result and is not used to identify you. Any translations you save stay on your device.
No. Lingua is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, Microsoft or any other translation provider.
The app is free and supported by ads. Any optional paid features are processed through Google Play Billing with the price shown before you buy; manage purchases in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
Decline the in-app consent prompt if it appeared, and/or reset or opt out of your Advertising ID via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Clearing app data lets the prompt appear again.
Clear your saved translations in the app, or clear the app's storage (Settings → Apps → Lingua → Storage → Clear data) or uninstall to remove on-device data.
Send us a message and we'll get back to you within 1–2 business days.
